Government of Nigeria Takes Steps to Curb Offshore InsuranceThe Insurance Act 2003 has increased the paid up capital requirements for providers of general insurance business, including Marine & Aviation, and Oil & Gas. To provide cover for insurable interests in these industries, the insurance company will be expected to have a minimum paid up capital of approximately USD 150 million as well as being registered as a Limited Liability Company in Nigeria.
