Abidjan’s Port Authority Gains ISO 9001 Certification

Back To Index

Having been duly declared to conform to the International Ship and Port Facility Code (ISPS Code) on 1 July 2004, the Port of Abidjan (Ivory Coast) recently obtained ISO 2001 certification from AFAQ-AFNOR, the international standards organisation.

The Port’s ISO 2001 certification confirms that its full range of activities (scheduling, traffic control and regulation, piloting and towage on entry, boatage, securing of vessels, piloting and towing on exit) meet both international standards and modern customer requirements.

It is just one of the many efforts made by the Port’s highly-motivated staff to provide quality service in the Port of Abidjan and invest in the up-to-date technology and equipment which enable the Port to handle the largest volume of traffic in the region.

In a context of socio-political calm and economic renewal resulting from the end of hostilities in April 2007 when the Ouaga agreement was signed, it is hoped that these investments will encourage satisfied customers to return time and time again to the port of Abidjan.
