Guinea Awaits General Election Results

Mr Fode Mario Camara of Budd Guinea, reports that the violent incidents which marked the days leading up to the general election appear to have come to an end.

For the time being at least, the interim President's election-eve call for peace to the 24 candidates appears have been heard.

The announcement of the election results, expected on Wednesday 30 June 2010, will be the next critical step.

We shall be staying in close contact with Mr Camara and will update you if there any significant developments.
