Tunisia: Gabes Port at Standstill

Budd Tunisia advises that following strikes and ensuing riots which started on 11 November 2020, protestors have brought all commerical activity in the port of Gabes to a halt.

Local sources state that there are no vessels currently at berth in Gabes.  Those who had completed their operations sailed before the strikes started and others either deviated to other ports or cancelled their voyages.

The strikers are demanding improved social conditions from the government and there is no indication of when the protests will end.

We shall update you further in due course.
