Ghana: Disembarkation of Stowaways Now Authorized

Budd’s Ghana office is pleased to advise that the 2016 ban on the disembarkation of non-Ghanaian stowaways in Takoradi and Tema has been repealed.

To the best of our knowledge, no circulars have yet been sent out to ship agents but Budd’s local office was able to obtain authorization to disembark and repatriate stowaways in July 2017.

This decision is one of many changes brought about by Ghana’s new President, Mr Nana Akufo-Addo, who came to power in January of this year.
