Port of Casablanca has Reopened

We are pleased to advise that the port of Casablanca has reoponed.

For safety reasons, all vessel movements were suspended last week after 85 containers on a vessel bound for Barcelona fell overboard in the port entrance on Wednesday night.

Port authorities launched major recovery and risk assessment operations with the support of a helicopter, five military police and Royal Navy trawlers, and several tugs.

It is thought that high waves and a strong swell contributed to the accident.

Containers are now washing up on Morocco’s shores.

The port of Casablanca is in full expansion.

In September 2025, King Mohammed VI inaugurated a modern fishing port as well as a state-of -the-art shipyard, cruise terminal and administrative facilities.
