Senegal: Mobile Internet Connections Cut

Given the anticipated unauthorized demonstrations nationwide starting at 3:00 PM local time today (13 February), the Senegalese government has decided to suspend mobile internet connections for the whole day.

The demonstrations stem from discontent over the postponement of elections initially scheduled for 25 February, now rescheduled to 15 December 2024.

Following the announcement on 5 February, immediate protests led to the arrest of at least 150 individuals.

Budd Senegal will rely on their home WiFi connections this afternoon.
