As advised previously, following a fire last July, Bizerte’s mobile bridge was closed, making access to the port impossible and preventing several vessels from sailing.

Following completion of the repairs, the « Commissaire Régional d’Equipement de Bizerte » (Regional Commissioner for Bizerte’s Infrastructure) announced that the bridge underwent successful tests at midnight on 17 November 2023.

By Sunday, 19 November 2023, Bizerte Bridge was fully functional, and the port has advised that several vessels which had been stranded in the port since July 2023 have finally been able to set sail.
