Ebola – France Reinforces Health Checks on Vessels
Following the World Health Organisation’s level 3 health alert, Marseille’s Harbour Master has sent a circular to the local ship agents, shipowners and freight forwarders advising that all vessels who have called in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia or Nigeria must email the following declaration of health to the Port of Marseille 48 hours before arriving:
Abidjan Lifts Ban on Vessels from Countries Affected by Ebola
The Port of Abidjan now allows vessels who have recently called in one of the countries affected by Ebola to berth.
Vessels from Ebola-Infected Countries Banned from Port of Abidjan
Budd Ivory Coast has just received a circular issued by the Abidjan Port Authority on 12 August 2014 advising that as of 10 August 2014, all vessels arriving from a country affected by the Ebola virus were forbidden to enter the port of Abidjan.

Ebola in West Africa – July 2014
Fears that the Ebola virus would spread with migrant workers crossing Sierra Leone and Liberia’s frontiers with neighbouring Guinea seem most regretfully to have been justified. The number of confirmed cases in Sierra Leone is now comparable to those in Guinea at between 300 and 400. Another 84 cases have been confirmed in Liberia.
Ebola Update – 8 April 2014
In Guinea, the Ebola epidemic has now spread to Conakry where a total of 15 cases and four deaths were reported on 2 April 2014.
