Following the Democratic Republic of Congo’s 30 December 2018 presidential election, Budd’s Kinshasa and Matadi offices have confirmed to us over the telephone that internet connections are either extremely slow or completely down in most of the country.

As the bauxite mining industry continues to grow, Budd’s Guinea office reports on a few of the latest developments.

A major pirate attack took place this Saturday (22 September) when pirates boarded MV Glarus, a Swiss-flagged vessel en route from Lagos to Port Harcourt (Nigeria). The vessel was carrying wheat.
